Bacon Cheddar Fries–Printable Version

Bacon Cheddar Fries

Ingredients:

1 (20-oz. or similar) bag frozen French fries

3 strips bacon or turkey bacon

3 green onions

3/4 cup finely shredded cheddar cheese

Directions:

Heat frozen French fries according to oven directions on package.

While fries are baking, heat small skillet over medium heat and shred bacon into small pieces. Place bacon in the pan.

Cook bacon shreds thoroughly and remove from heat. Before fries have completed their initial oven trip, chop green onions into very small pieces. Remove fries from oven and transfer to broiler-proof, sided dish. (I used a 9″x13″ glass cake pan.) Because the fries have already cooked completely, you don’t have to worry about spreading them in a single layer the second time around.

Once the fries are spread evenly into the broiler pan, sprinkle top with cooked bacon, green onions, and cheddar cheese. Toss fries lightly to even out toppings if desired.

Set oven to broil setting and place pan on top rack for approximately two minutes, or until cheese has begun to melt. Remove from oven and serve immediately.
